Livelihoods Restoration Lead

BCP is recruiting a Livelihoods Restoration Lead who will take charge of the Livelihood Restoration development and implementation, in order to maximize benefits to communities while respecting the highest international standards of impact management. 

Specifically, the Livelihoods Restoration Lead, will lead the development of the Livelihood Restoration Plans (LRP) for all our community conservation projects.  This will involve working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders; contributing to rigorous analysis of community impacts and potentials; participating in identification of win-win strategies for communities and the environment; overseeing monitoring and reporting of social benefits and impacts; and detailed planning and implementation of impact mitigation plans and action programs to the community level.

The CARBON OFFICER is responsible for overseeing collection and management of carbon monitoring data to meet VCS standards including quality control and training. The Carbon Officer will work closely with the members of the team towards the support our international REDD+ projects.

This role’s primary targets are to achieve VCS/CCBA/FCPF validations and verifications in order to generate forest carbon offsets.  Additional carbon responsibilities include viability studies, to keep BCP at the forefront of REDD+ methodological developments, to oversee an advisory services arm of the business, and help to design successful African forest carbon projects.  The position also supervises biodiversity monitoring—helping BCP to quantify wildlife increase impacts—as well as critical impact monitoring data collection to support the company.  The role in addition covers:

    1. Fully manage the VVB process, including procurement, oversight and contracting.
    2. Fully manage external consultant processes to delivery and payment.
    3. Input into national and international REDD+ processes as needed to drive BCP’s interests.

Conservation Coordinator - Mfuwe

BCP seeks a dynamic, talented, hard-working individual to serve as a Conservation Coordinator within field-based REDD+ projects in the Luangwa-Zambezi Ecosystem.  This role oversees conservation activities across an area of approximately 800,000 hectares of forests of global biodiversity significance. Most of these areas are located in Game Management Areas bordering strategic National Parks, governed by agreements between local communities, the Government of Zambia, and BCP. The primary role shall be achieving forest protection, improved biodiversity conservation and land management operations in REDD+ zones. The objective is to set up and manage conservation interventions with a long-term objective. This position involves frequent travel for extended time periods to remote and rural forest areas with limited infrastructure or amenities.  The position requires consummate diplomacy skills and the ability to develop agreements and build effective teams.

Impact Monitoring Officer

BCP seeks a talented Impact Monitoring Officer who will be responsible for initiating and implementation of all measures of impact and reports on how results are achieved in all the BCP REDD+ project management areas in the Eastern and Lusaka Province, and parts of Central Province within the Zambezi catchment area.  The IMO must, therefore, establish a high level of interaction and coordination with all divisions to ensure that BCP’s goals and objectives are attained. Project Coordinator

BCP seeks a talented Project Coordinator who will oversee all aspects of REDD+ project management in Lusaka Province, and parts of Central Province within the Zambezi catchment area.  This important role will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer. This role will be responsible for delivering key outcomes against the Company’s top goals. This role must lead, build and manage a highly effective project team to run the project area on a day-to-day basis to deliver exceptional results in both community and biodiversity outcomes. Senior Manager, Carbon

BCP is recruiting for a Senior Manager, Carbon to guide BCP into a new phase of project development, conservation technology developments and impact monitoring.  The primary responsibility of the Senior Manager is to achieve VCS and CCB verifications, conduct pre-viability studies, oversee impact monitoring, oversee geospatial technology, data management and IT, and to keep BCP at the forefront of REDD+ methodological developments in Zambia and beyond.
